An Artist-Led Workshop at Adorn
The evening began with the simple beauty of a blank canvas.
Richard guided the group through the early stages of oil painting, from sketching the first loose lines to building shape, shadow, and movement with paint. What started as a light outline slowly became something more expressive as each guest found their own rhythm.

Learning from Artist Richard Rodriguez
The workshop was led by artist Richard Rodriguez, whose work through RMR Studio explores the space between memory, movement, and western imagery.
His approach brought a thoughtful balance of technique and instinct to the evening, helping guests see oil painting as both a skill and a personal interpretation.

An Unforgettable Event for the Trade Troop
The Trade Troop was created to bring designers, makers, artists, and creative partners together through experiences that feel thoughtful, tactile, and memorable.

Around the tables, guests mixed paint, asked questions, compared progress, laughed through the first uncertain marks, and encouraged each other as their canvases came to life.
It was less about creating a perfect finished piece and more about making space for process, curiosity, and connection.
Why Art Makes a Difference
When designers have the opportunity to understand the process behind a piece, they can speak about art with more intention. They can see the hand behind the work. They can better connect clients to pieces that feel meaningful, not just beautiful.
This workshop was a reminder that the best interiors are layered with more than furniture and finishes. They are shaped by the people, stories, and creative decisions that make a space feel alive.

Inside the Adorn Showroom
By the end of the evening, the showroom had transformed into a working studio.
Tables were covered with paint tubes, brushes, palettes, paper towels, gloves, wine glasses, and canvases in progress. The Adorn shelves created the perfect backdrop, filled with books, objects, color, and texture that made the space feel equal parts polished and playful.
It was creative, a little messy, and completely full of life. Exactly the kind of energy Trade Troop was made for.
